BUSINESS CONSULTATION SERVICES

    Placer Independent Resource Services (PIRS) is the independent living center serving Placer, El Dorado and Alpine Counties in California. 

    PIRS provides technical assistance on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) especially Title I - Employment and Title III - Public Accommodations; accessibility surveys of facilities and services; training for employers and employees including disability awareness as well as the ADA; and surveys of access compliance for California Lottery vendors.

    Susan (Tink) Miller, PIRS Executive Director, has served on the California State Building Commission's Building, Fire and Other Code Advisory Committee and has conducted training for organizations including the California Hotel and Motel Association and the Foothill Employers Advisory Council. She has consulted with major resorts, hotels, restaurants, golf courses and special event facilities as well as architects, general contractors and designers. She also has been a consultant for California State Lottery Access Compliance plan.

    PIRS Staff Specialists have extensive knowledge of disability and are trained in the Americans with Disabilities Act and the California Fair Housing and Employment Act.
